Cleaning out water and food bowls regularly will help control the spread of parasitic organisms that spread through the bird droppings and feces in the water. Bacteria grows very quickly in dirty bowls and can greatly harm chickens. Water and food bowls that are used for them should never be used for other avian population or other animals on the farm.
