Despite the aggressive gun control legislation passed in April, and effective beginning July 1, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam is not slowing down on his anti-gun efforts. Several restrictive bills were introduced during the 2020 legislative session, but delayed until the 2021 session. With the commencement of the special legislative session beginning on August 18, Second Amendment supporters fear that increased gun control will be packaged and pushed through along with criminal justice reform and coronavirus-related legislation.
